Tips to Keep the Marble and Granite Tiles Look Attractive



Both marble and granite tiles are beautiful to look at.  This is why they are often used in flooring and counter tops. Unfortunately, they cannot look very pleasant at all times, especially if you fail to protect their beauty. If you want to preserve their worth-admiring looks you should know the things you should do and you should avoid helping you deal with their weaknesses.  
Specifically, marble is easily scratched by common foot traffic.  This is also sensitive to strong commercial cleaner. Some of the ingredients you should avoid applying in marble are white vinegar and lemon juice since they can remove the polish from the marble counter top or marble floor if left for a longer period of time. "No-Streak" cleansers that has high alkaline can also damage the finish of the tile. Meanwhile, granite has better resistance to marble; although, this is also susceptible to stain.
Believe it or not, the more recommended solution to apply to marble and granite when cleaning them is a neutral PH detergent. You can also combine this with a non-yellowing paste when cleaning the granite tile. When dealing with rust to any of these two, you can also make a commercial rust remover paste and powder whitening. You can find all of these in a paint store or hardware.
When polishing these two though, keep in mind to have extra precautions since they can be slippery. This way, you can prevent any possible accident.
