The Two General Types of Carpet Cleaning Supplies
Published on Tuesday, 27 October 2009
The best cleaning service for carpets is always backed up with the best cleaning supplies. That is why if you are thinking to start your own carpet cleaning company, it will be helpful to know which supplies are best for a kind of cleaning situation.
Generally, there are two type of carpet cleaning supplies:
1. Liquid-based. This kind of cleaning supply is best for a liquid stain that dries up without forming a hard stain. Liquid cleaning is also recommended in removing dirt caused by dry pollutants, dust, and moisture.
2. Powder-based. This cleaning supply is best for removing a liquid stain that dries up and formed a hard surface. A cleaning powder only needs to be sprinkled on the stain, wait for half an hour or an hour, and brush off the powder.
Also, powder-based agents can be used to remove spills of clean water since these can better absorb liquid.
The kind of cleaning supply that should be used will highly depend on the stain and dirt that the carpet has. The fiber make-up of carpets should also be considered. For example, liquid-based is recommended for synthetic fibers. However, natural fibers can only be cleaned through powder-based supplies.
Take caution with the smell and feel of the cleaning supply as well. Some people might be allergic to certain smell or feel of a cleaning agent. So before you use anything on the carpet, it will be better to know if any in the household has allergies.
