The Proper Method of Cleaning Your Home Heating Vents
Published on Saturday, 24 October 2009
Proper ventilation should always be maintained at home. This can be done by regularly cleaning your home heating vents even if they seem to look clean. During winter, heating vents are used excessively and this is also the time when vents attract allergens and other harmful elements that can cause unwanted circumstances to the family.
Therefore, it is a must that heating vents should be well-maintained by keeping them free from any clutters. If possible, don't place boxes, closets, and other furniture near your home heating vents. Obstruction in the normal circulation of warm air inside the house should be avoided.
Mopping, dusting, and vacuuming your heating vents every week is the best way to go. This way dust and other furnace debris will not accumulate and there will be a continuous flow of warm and fresh air.
If foreign objects get stuck in the vents, carefully unscrew it and remove the object. This way, your vent continues to become functional. As you clean your vents, make sure that you remove first the most visible wastes and particles before removing the rest. And then afterwards, clean the grates of your vent by wiping them with clean rags.
If your vents are always clean, then the air that circulates in your home is certainly a safe kind of air.
