Techniques in Terrace Cleaning

Published on Friday, 01 January 2010

Terrace is unlike any parts of the house. First is its location, this is usually can be found outside of your home. The surface and furniture in this section is different from that of the inside of the house. This is also quite visible for people outside. They may form an impression or an opinion based solely on your terrace. If that is the case, we have to make our terrace inviting and clean.

We can make our terrace inviting by putting some plants, having a good paint and other subtle decoration appropriate for the terrace. You may put some chairs that should stand the harsh and ever changing weather. It might be best if it's waterproof like plastic or metal.

Aside from having an appealing terrace, it should also be spotless and germ-free. These are some of the techniques in terrace cleaning and we'll start with the different parts of the terrace.

Ceilings

Ceilings should be free of cobwebs. You may do this by sweeping the ceiling by using a long broom. Also make sure the lighting in this area is still working. The light should be not so bright and not so dim, just the right light to make it look a comfortable place at night.

Walls

Ii depends of what kind of wall you have. If it is a smooth surface, you can easily clean it by washing it with water and soap. But if it is a rough one, you can use brush in cleaning it. You can also clean those decorations adorning your walls as well as the posts and columns.

Floor

This is the part of the terrace that seems to be always so dirty. Whether it's a smooth or rough flooring that you have, the first step is still sweeping the dirt and dust before you start moping, scrubbing and vacuuming.

Some of you may notice that right after cleaning the terrace it is sparkling and clean but after a while when it dries, it looks like you don't do any cleaning at all. It may help if you use some polishing or wax product to make it shine and stay that way. A polished surface prevents dust from sticking.
