Simple Steps to Reduce Household Wastes
Published on Wednesday, 10 February 2010
The world is wallowing in trash. Everyday, tons of unnecessary wastes are being dumped in landfills. It's not too late though because you can help the environment by learning how to reduce household wastes. Here is a simple step by step approach to reduce your wastes.
Avoid buying packed foods. It would be best to purchase whole foods and fresh produce that do not have packaging. This is a healthy approach and very friendly to the environment.
Reuse and recycle. This is particularly important when marketing or going to the grocery. Bring reusable bags to reduce your plastic wastes. If there are still lots of plastics in your house, bring them to a recycling facility.
Minimize your purchase of budget packs. As much as possible, always buy in bulk. This way, you can significantly reduce the trash that you have to throw away.
Always use recycled products so you can contribute in the effort to reduce global waste. You should also use washable cloths and rags instead of buying paper towels and disposable hand wipes.
Lastly, recycle your biodegradable waste like food peelings and kitchen scraps through composting. You can use the compost later in fertilizing your flower and garden plots.
