Practical Tips to Follow When Cleaning Your Grout
Published on Friday, 14 May 2010
Grout is the material used to fill up the joints in between the tiles. This comes in three different types: epoxy resin; Portland cement grout; and furan. Whichever type of grout you are using, you surely notice that it can easily accumulate some dirt and stain, especially the grout in the kitchen. This happens because it is always exposed to water and soils. Since grout easily accumulates the dirt in your surroundings. You therefore need to give it
a regular cleaning. You will
need effective cleaning solutions or some household items to do that. If you want to follow the cheaper way, you only need to mix water and equal parts of vinegar. Simply spray the mixture into the grout and scrub it using a stiff brush. Take note not to use a metal brush as this can ruin the grout. If this thing failed to work, you can then try using a commercial grout cleaner. When using this though, make sure to use gloves, goggles, and mask to protect yourself. You can read for more safety information on the label of the bottle. However, if the stain that was glued in your grout is too stubborn, then it is time for you to get the service of professional cleaners. This way, you will save yourself a good amount of effort and time.
