When you get a stain on your couch it's always hard to find a solution on how to remove the stain without leaving signs of the stain still on your couch. Here are a few steps that you can use to remove stains from your couch. Steps to Remove Stains 1. First of all try and catch the stain before it starts. If something gets spilled on your couch, act right away by blotting at the stain. 2. In order to blot at the stain you will need to use paper towels or a soft cloth. Blot only and do not rub at the spot or else you will only make the spot larger. 3. Begin blotting at the stain with paper towels first. This is because paper towels are more absorbent and will be able to remove most of the liquid from the stain. Once you have removed all the liquid with your paper towels, you can switch to a soft cloth. With your soft cloth, you will need to continue to blot at the stain till it appears to dry. Once again, remember to blot not rub. If you rub you will set the stain into the fabric. Now that the spot is dry you can now dip your cloth in a mild dish detergent and water solution. Now you can begin the blotting technique all over again. Once you have done these steps, you need to allow the area to dry thoroughly; this will usually take a couple of hours.
