How to Avoid Dirt and Stains on the Same Spot

Published on Friday, 11 September 2009

It's quite normal for your carpet to attract dirt and dust. However, some carpet cleaning practices actually make it worse. If you notice the same stains and dirt on the same spots, you may be guilty of the same mistakes.

Thorough carpet cleaning is needed from time to time. When you are doing this or even when you let professional carpet cleaners do it, alkaline detergents are used to help loosen the dirt that may have stuck to the carpets. The problem is ph levels of these solutions are usually high so much so that even hot water will not be able to normalize it. Detergents remain even after cleaning is done.

The effect is this detergent would continue to work. It would even attract more dirt as it helps clean anything that goes in contact with the carpet and even the dust in the air as well. Because of this, your carpet even becomes dirtier than before.

Using an acid rinse will help you prevent this from happening. It would work to neutralize the ph levels caused by the alkaline detergents. Doing this will help you have a clean, nice looking and great smelling carpet. Best of all, your carpet will remain so even longer.
