Four Steps in Cleaning Carpet

Published on Monday, 16 July 2012

When the cleaning time comes, many find themselves in a difficult situation. There are always the questions : ?'where to start from and how much time this will take me''? Truth is, cleaning your home is not a game and it cannot be fun. It is too weary and exhausting. Having all these rooms, that need to be cleaned and put in order creates a lot of stress for a lot of women.  Although, the whole process is tiring for many people, cleaning the carpet is the most difficult part. No matter how tedious it may be you know you have to do it.

Here are some simple basic steps, which can be of a lot of help when cleaning the carpet.

Step one: Beat the carpet.
The first step is usually considered the most difficult one, because it involves much more efforts. Since carpets are heavy and not so easy to be beaten, you can have your husband do the job. If you find it unnecessary to clean the carpet in that way, you should know that this is the most effective way to remove the dust. Make sure to have all the carpets in your house, which can be removed properly dusted in this way.

Step two: Vacuum the carpet.
While beating the carpet is the best way to dust it, vacuuming is the easiest way to remove the dirt from the carpet. Before you vacuum the carpet , make sure that the vacuum cleaner bag is clean. You know that, a dirty bag can leave some spots on your carpet. Properly clean the bag, wash it if it can be removed and then clean the carpet with it.

Step three: Wash it with a cleaning detergent
The last step involves washing the carpet with a detergent. If you don't have it, you can replace the detergent with a soap, it will have the same effect on your carpet. When cleaning you have to use a brush cleaning, to completely remove the dirty spots. Some people are also using a toothbrush, but they are too small and it will take you more time to clean the carpet with it. However, if you want to carpet to smell good , not only to be clean, I suggest you use a detergent, since they contain disinfectants as well.

Step Four: Keep it clean
The last step in the carpet cleaning process involves maintaining it clean and fresh. Many people wear their shoes, when at home. This is a big mistake, because all the dirt you have on your shoes will be left marks on your carpet. If you want to have a clean carpet, don't allow your family to come inside with their shoes on. If you spill something on your carpet, you should clean it immediately, otherwise you risk your carpet to smell bad and to have dirty spots. This just does not look good.

Truth be told, carpet is the most important part of your house. They decorate your place and makes it look even better. Removing the carpet just makes the room look empty. Given how important this decoration for your floor is , you have to take a good care of it. You can create a schedule for carpet cleaning and do it more often , not just once a month. When you are cleaning, don't use the vacuum cleaner only, but follow the four steps given above. In this way, you will have a perfectly clean carpet all the time. Besides, cleaning it often will help you save a lot of time and energy on removing dirty spots ,which have been there for a long time.
