Floor Cleaning in a Flash

Published on Tuesday, 01 September 2009

One of the most important things to keep clean in your home is your floor. Floors are made out of different materials so you always have to consider which kind of cleaner is bet with what. You can also minimize the "dirty" look of your floor by using dark colored material, on which dirt does not show up easily. The lighter the shade of the material your floor is made out of, the more it will show if it's dirty. But eventually, all floors should be cleaned.

Make sure that all the appliances you can move must be put to one side. This way, you don't have to navigate in between all your things - which will also cause you to miss spots. For heavier furniture, be sure to clean as much of the area under it as you can, as dust and dirt accumulates under it and should be removed, let it become a breeding ground for all sorts of unsavory and harmful pests.

When cleaning, it is also best to work in cycles - dry cleaning first, like sweeping and vacuuming, and then you can use a mop. You can also apply wax if you like - after the floor is dry, and then polish it for a good shiny look.
