Easy Ways to Clean Your Mattress

Published on Friday, 22 July 2011

Sleep ranked as the most relaxing activity that a person can do. That is why to make sure you get a good night sleep; your mattress should clean and sweet smelling. To keep your mattress clean, you should vacuum all of its sides every 6 or 8 weeks using the hose's hard surface and the non brush attachment. A fresh smell on your mattress can be achieved through putting dryer sheets before you cover up the mattress with the beddings. Choose a dryer sheet that smells nice to you so you can comfortably sleep at night. If a child or a pet urinated in the mattress, blot the wetness with a dry towel and spray an enzymatic cleaner on the wet area. You can also sprinkle baking soda in it to absorb the moisture.

If half of your mattress is covered with molds or mildew, you should buy a new one. You can also take the mattress out on a sunny day and leave it there for the whole day. If you smoke, your mattress may smell of cigarettes too. Bringing it out on a sunny day can help and also some odor remover. If you accidentally vomit on your mattress, do the same procedures as that of cleaning the urine on the mattress.
