Tired of thinking about your cluttered basement? Below are some of our useful guides in cleaning your basement. Start it now. 1. Decide on the things that you want to dispose. Consider giving them to some of your needy folks, or in your community church, perhaps it is now time donate. Remember whatever your excess are, they already belong to the poor. You may also want to start a garage sale. If you have interest in recycling, it is time that you use your skill and interest in recycling. 2. For the things that you decided to keep with you for the next years, organise and categorise them systematically. This means put together all old books or old furniture with paintings. Then, label them with permanent ink. For the books, better label them by grade or year level. Make sure to dust them off before keeping. You may also consider adding additional shelves where you will keep your things organised. After you have properly placed all the stuff in their proper position, evaluate again. Will I really be needing the things that I have kept? 3. If you have finally decided what to keep and not to keep, then you are ready to proceed to the next step. And this is the most highlight of the entire task. Clean, clean, clean. Sweep on the entire floor. Scrub walls with a sponge and soapy water if necessary. Get rid of insects and rats and make sure to destroy their hide outs. Deodorise, polish, mop or hand wash the floor. Vacuum some of the parts which need it. Wash the windows and stairs. Rinse and dry. 4. After everything is in its proper place, there might be extra spaces now. Try to think how you can maximise your basement by making use of these extra spaces. Then, congratulate yourself for another achievement.
