Carpet Cleaning Methods For Specific Purposes
Published on Tuesday, 28 July 2009
There are three basic methods of carpet cleaning that vary in the degree of cleanliness offered, chemicals and machinery used. Here's the discussion on each of the methods and the purpose served by them. Carpet Shampooing: this is the best method to clean the carpet for those who cannot afford the expenses of hiring a cleaning company. In this process, a cleaning solution is added in to the machine and is released as the bristles of the brush clean the carpet. Extensive brush movement of the machine generates foam that enters into the deep layers of the carpet. Once the foam dries up, suspended particles are removed by vacuuming. Though this method saves your pocket, it is not highly recommended due to the fact that a residue of the cleaning agent remains in the carpet and serves as a magnet to attract dust and soil. Dry Cleaning: if you just need some superficial cleaning to invite guests during the festive season then this method of carpet cleaning should be your choice. This has the advantage of faster drying compared to shampooing. In dry cleaning method, a carpet cleaner is sprayed on to the carpet and a machine with an attached adsorbent is rotated on the carpet. Dust gets stuck to the adsorbent. Hot Water Extraction: this is the preferred method for deep thorough cleaning and can be said as the eco-friendly method as it doesn't involve the usage of soapy carpet cleaners. In this method, hot water is sprayed through a machine followed by sucking of the water by high power vacuums. Dirt and sand particles get sucked along with water. Even deep stains are also cleared. However, the extent of cleanliness offered depends on the equipment used and the care taken during cleaning. The higher is the power of the machine used to spray the solution and the higher is the power of the vacuum cleaner; the more thorough and deeper will be the cleaning.
