Basic Troubleshooting Tips on Vacuum Cleaners
Published on Friday, 23 April 2010
Vacuum cleaners are necessary for getting rid of dust and dirt particles in the house. But just like any other appliance, your vacuum cleaner can malfunction too. When this happens you should be able to fix minor problems such as blockage in built in vacuum cleaners. A simple shaking and jingling can be quite enough to solve the problem. This is especially so when the problem is in the hose. But before you do this make sure that you plug the hose to the vacuum first. Turn the vacuum cleaner too. This way dust will just be sucked by the vacuum cleaner as it gets removed. If this is not enough, try inserting a stick similar to a broomstick in one end and remove it in the other end. How ever if this does not work you would have to investigate further. Again don't forget to turn the vacuum cleaner on so the blockage would simply be sucked by the vacuum once dislodged. Sometimes the blockage can also be in the canister. To check if the blockage is there, manually turn on vacuum cleaner at the canister too. Then open the hose receptacle that's nearest to the canister to check. But if there is a strong suction the problem is not there. If you cannot determine the problem by yourself you can always have it checked by professionals and have it repaired.
