All about Dry Cleaning

Dry cleaning, as the name implies, means the cleaning of a garment without washing or the use of water. A solvent is used to treat stains and dirt - the clothes are first put into a dry rotating stainless steel basket (not unlike a washing machine spinner), after which the solvent is put in. After the solvent circulates through the clothes, it absorbs the dirt and it is then that the solvent is drained.
When having your clothes dry cleaned make sure to consult the label to make sure that the fabric is okay to be dry cleaned, if not, then you have to have it cleaned the old fashioned way. It also pays to point out specific patches of dirt or stains to the person who will be dry cleaning your clothes. This way, you can make sure that special care is taken that these stains and dirt patches will be properly attended to. Also, do the usual checking like going through the pockets for some loose items that you might have left there.
Dry cleaning can be a nifty way to take care of your clothes without subjecting them to the rigors of washing. Just make sure that you check the labels and washing instructions properly to avoid any damage to your clothes or fabric.
